Appeal to Heaven

The pilgrims absolutely believed America had a God-given destiny, and our Founding Fathers did, as well.  They believed the Almighty God was  involved in birthing the nation and if a nation chose to partner with and honor God, it would experience His favor and blessing in extraordinary ways. The early colonists believed this too.

“And where the body of the people or any single man, is deprived of their right, or is under the exercise of a power without right, and have no appeal on earth, then they have a liberty to appeal to heaven…”

John Locke

General George Washington, leader of the American Revolution, obviously believed in this divine plan. Several ships were commissioned to fly the Appeal to Heaven banner (also known as the Pine Tree flag). Its popularity spread and was flying  throughout the colonies and was the flag of the Massachusetts state Navy. It became the symbol  an unwavering spirit of liberty, and a statement of their faith.

Today, we stand with many others throughout the nation and make our “Appeal to Heaven” for the USA to return to true liberty and be a nation that brings Him honor and spreads liberty found in Christ to our world.
